In fact, the handlebar is quite easy to replace. Find a place that repairs lawnmowers and you should find they have dozens of used handlebars hanging on a peg. Just take your handlebar to ensure you get one that's about the same size and that has the same size bolt holes for the bolts where it attaches to the mower. It does not matter if the used handlebar comes from a gas mower or from a different make -- they're all pretty much equivalent in how they attach to the mower.
