Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale

As far as season finales go, Star Trek has had numerous OMG! WTF? moments. The first and most stunning time they did it was the end of season 3 The Best of Both Worlds, and did that make for an unbearable summer for me, and I’m pretty sure for my mom, who I insisted on going over all my theories with. All. Summer. Long.

Alice’s last puppy agility class was yesterday and tonight was the club’s summer general meeting. Between them I did manage to squeeze in a few minutes of time to work on my statue, and do a little reading. I also got a gift from work – an old rusty horseshoe. Why is this exciting? Because it’s going to become yet another Halloween prop! This one will be a quick and easy one too.

In non-Halloween related news, I should be finishing up the banister this weekend. The weather looks like it'll cooperate, and I should be able to get it cleaned and stained Friday evening and Saturday, and hung on Sunday, between the various activities that are going on.

Also, next week is the primary election, and once again I'm serving as an election judge. So everyone in Maryland (and any other state with a primary coming up) go vote! Unless you've already done your absentee ballot or taken advantage of early voting.

Afraid of spiders? Would you blow yourself up to kill a spider? This man did!

Lucy thought that it should be pointed out that she is in fact awesomer than awesome.

Just in case you weren't aware.

Day 11 - A show that disappointed you

Big Bang Theory - Everyone told me I'd love it. That it's about geeks. Hell, it has Wil Wheaton in it!! Unfortunately it also is insultinly steriotypical, has an obnoxious laugh track, and just failed to be actually funny.

Agility went better than expected yesterday, though it felt more like the Sunday of an agility trial (everyone was tired). I think it was a combination of the heat, and the fact tht we had a run on Friday.

We'll see how today goes!

Our dog club decided to try having a single CPE run tonight, and I think Lucy and I did pretty well out there.

Oh Boy...

Time for the TV meme!

It's all written out, just waiting to be cut an pasted into semagic... Except I forgot to e-mail it to myself, and it's at work.

So the TV meme will begin tomorrow.

I haven't talked about it much, but I start grad school this fall. Orientation is tomorrow evening in fact. At this point I don't have any financial aid. For whatever reason the highly overwored financial aid department hasn't processed it yet. This is due in part because they didn't have my SSN. Not that I didn't give it to them, they just.... didn't enter it I guess.

Correcting that took about a week, once I realized the problem.

But then they typed it wrong.

Another week.

For the last two weeks it's been nearly impossible to get through to them on the phone. I was once put on hold for 28 and a half minutes before they decided to hang up on me because they had too many calls. Since then I mostly get a message saying they're too busy, try again later.

I plan on cornering people at the orientation till I get some answers. I'll let you know how it goes.

Tonight I'm taking Alice to agility class, while Tigs and Lucy are off to Soldiers Delight for a hike. It's kinda hot out, but Lucy has been grumpy from lack of personal attention.

Day 17 - A movie that disappointed you the most

Wanted http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493464/ made for such a great comic, that I thought if any studio had the guts to turn it into a movie; it would have to be pretty awesome. Well, it wasn’t. They took out everything that made the comic really interesting, and turned it into some crappy action flick that would have been completely forgotten had it not starred Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

We had puppy agility class tonight. We skipped last week because I won tickets to the Orioles game, and what a game it was! Tonight went well, and I love our new earlier time!

Day 08 - A movie that you have seen countless times

In an effort to not answer Star Trek for all of the questions, I’m going to say Disney’s 3 Musketeers. It’s one of those movies that is a lot of fun, has a great cast, and I can totally relax to.

Last nights puppy class went well. Alice managed to keep her focus, in spite of all the other people and dogs doing all sorts of crazy things.

Tonight I have a board meeting for the dog club. I fear that like yesterday, tonight will be a late night, and less fun than playing with my puppy.

And the printer died. :-( Perminantly. Does anyone use HP 02 ink? We have some for you!

I write like
Stephen King

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I actually ran this a couple of times and had several Dan Brown results, as well as a couple of Tolkien.

I also ran the Declaration of Independence, and it says that Mr. Jefferson writes like H.P. Lovecraft! Now there’s a fun plot hook for a Revolutionary War/Early Republic era Call of Cthulhu game!!

Day 07 - The most surprising plot twist or ending

I knew there was something up, but I was genuinely surprised by The 6th Sense. Star Trek the Motion Picture also had a thought provoking twist at the end.

Tonight we start puppy agility with Alicemonster. I really wish the class didn't start at 8:15.
