Star Trek: Terok Nor: Night of the Wolves
By S.D. Perry

Second book in the trilogy, set 18 years into the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Some familiar faces start cropping up: Kira, Ro, and a host of other characters who appeared on DS9. We spend a lot more time with Dukat, and I'm still waitng for Garak to show up. There have been some encounters with the Obsidian Order, but none of the agents are named or really described, so I'm reading just about all of them with Garak's voice.

The Gates
By John Connolly

This one reminded me very much of Good Omens (in a good way). I love how Connolly brought the LHC into the story, and how he made demons terrifying yet not invulnerable.

No classics this time, dropping me down to 33.33% classics for the year so far.

Day 24 - Best quote

This is probably the hardest question so far. There are so many good ones. Practically the first couple of seasons of West Wing in their entirety would qualify. The various quips of Gilmore Girls, So many from Star Trek, Firefly...

I'm going to have to go with one from Star Trek, one that set my imagination aflame so many years ago.

"Let's see what's out there!" Click here and go to minute 8.

Yesterday was a fun, but very busy day. First we went to a baby shower, and then took the girls to Frederick for the First Saturday fun. It's the first one we've been to for quite a while, and the girls were great! Lucy didn't even eat the face of the little kid who came up behind her and hugged her whole body. She showed incredible restraint, and was really on her best behavior. Alice loved all the attention, even the guy who just randomly bent down as he was walking past her to pet her head. Some people really need to be taught to ASK before touching a strange dog. Just because they're out for a walk doesn't mean you can just stick your hand in their face!

Today we went to the MD State Fair. We went early, and left before the Bieberites took over the place. We then stopped by Bust Buy to take a look at the notebook computers they've got. I'm planning on getting one for my school work. After that we came home, had some dinner, and then I did my homework, and I just finished a test (I got an 89%). The most awesome thing is that we've got tomorrow off work because of the Labor Day Holiday!!! Woo-hoo! We'll probably be taking the girls for a hike.

Prison guard misses escape because he was too busy playing Plants vs Zombies!

Day 21 - Favorite ship

I’ve been waiting for this question. Not that the answer will surprise anyone who knows me at all.

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D.

It’s a beautiful ship, and I fell in love at first sight. Now there are admittedly prettier designs out there – The Enterprise E is far more sporty, the 1701-A is classier, and then there are all the ships from other shows. The Serenity is a neat vessel, along the same lines as the Millennium Falcon, both tramp freighters, but neither captured my imagination like the 1701-D did.

...

What do you mean that's not what the question meant?

Now I'm going to watch the Project Runway episode from 2 weeks ago!
